Awesome game! I found an oversight though. There was a lot of places that were just barely out of reach from a single standard jump. You could just bearly get to these spots using the bird's out of battle / f ability, and this really broke the flow of the game. I was able to go to all sorts of places that I know I shouldn't have been to. I could get to the blue caves before even beating the first champion. There was so many spots that I could do some cheeky things, so you may wanna patch that. The bird is just barely able to get up, it requires precision but is certainly O.P.

EDIT: Oh.... I was really enjoying the game... I just saw the strange alchemist dude for the first time. In that room where he warns you not to proceed, I went ahead, and there was these two hump things, and when I stepped on it, I few through the floor and can't get out. When I quit and continue the game, the save has me continuing from the same spot off the map. So now I'm stuck with nothing else to do....

I had a problem where I couldn't change the volume or sensitivity, because when I moved my mouse to the slider, a popup opened (saying adjust sensitivity or adjust volume), which blocked me from adjusting the sliders.

The retro feel was great, but I got really sick of the controls. I think you could improve them by allowing the player to press the jump button early, then have the character jump as soon as they land. I kept on pressing the button a few frames before actually landing, and this wouldn't be registered, resulting in a seemingly unfair death. Still a cool game, just wish that I had better controls for the precision platforming.
